About

Two Stones is the story of Rohan Nevacria Haftell, who loves books and mysteries and things beyond his rather ordinary shepherding life, even though his shepherd father prevents most of his joy.

Into his rather bleak childhood comes his mysterious and wandering grandfather, who teaches Rohan the ancient but cryptic family oath and enthralls him with stories of the wider world before setting off for the fabled island city of Cleiadne.

There, Rohan’s grandfather discovers the secret to the oath, but is brutally slain on his return less than a mile from Rohan’s family home.

How could a wedding be the precursor to such destruction? And yet it is.

As Rohan and his new bride Herala wake on their wedding morning, they find their homeland invaded and everything they knew destroyed.

They flee, shielded by the Talamhain, a warband devoted to protecting travellers, and assisted by the Bennesgarth domati, a scholarly settlement of men who guard books, maps, languages and knowledge.

Yet there is a betrayer among friends, and as Rohan and Herala enter Cleiadne, they have to pierce three layers of deception to find the truth
